Brooklyn Slate Loves the Bowery, Boston, Beef, & Butchers

With the holidays fast approaching, we’re pleased to announce the addition of Brooklyn Slate to three stores and two eating/drinking settings!

Formaggio Essex & Formaggio Kitchen
At the Lower East Side’s Essex Street Market you’ll find gizzards, dream catchers, possibly the world’s smallest barber shop, and now slate cheese boards. Stop by Formaggio Essex to try some of their incredible cheeses and check out some cool Brooklyn Slate pieces.

If you’re in Boston, you’ll also find our slate cheese boards – including unique found pieces – at Cambridge’s Formaggio Kitchen.

South
Our favorite new neighborhood hangout South is now serving up their locally sourced kielbasa dish on Vermont Black slate plates. If you’re in the South Slope area, drop in for a beer and some beef.

Williamsburg’s Brooklyn Kitchen and new sister shop The Meat Hook are very much worth the trip from our South Slope studio. At the former you’ll find our slate cheese boards and coaster sets, while the latter is doling out absolutely unbelievable cheeses and cuts of meat on our red slate display boards. On our most recent visit we picked up some chorizo and garlic sausages, as well as “Last Supper” links – Thanksgiving turkey, stuffing, and cranberry condensed into a sausage (left).

P.S. Did you remember to reserve your ticket for Edible Brooklyn’s Edible Pursuit?

Brooklyn Food Historians, Test Your Mettle at Edible Pursuit

If there’s one thing we like as much as food, it’s talking about it. On Monday, December 14, Edible Brooklyn combines the two in a trivia game meets feasting celebration at Park Slope’s Sheep Station.

Edible’s editors have compiled questions on topics ranging from Brooklyn food history to cuts of meat. Rack your brain while enjoying some of the Station’s signature foods, including (our favorite) stacked burgers and some solid local beer.

Prizes for trivia success include lots of cool local goods, include a few cheese boards and coaster sets from Brooklyn Slate.

Tickets are a very reasonable $15 and can be reserved right here.

Brooklyn Slate: Now in Stores

It’s been an exciting month here at Brooklyn Slate Company. We debuted our slate in October at both the Brooklyn Indie Market and Brooklyn Flea (click here for photos), prompting Brooklyn blog Brownstoner to state that BSC “is fairly priced and… poised for the big time.”

Today we are very excited to announce that you can find Brooklyn Slate in the following stores:

Bklyn Larder
228 Flatbush Avenue, Brooklyn

Blue Apron Foods
814 Union Street, Brooklyn

Murray’s Cheese
254 Bleecker Street, Manhattan

Stinky Bklyn
261 Smith Street, Brooklyn

These are, without a doubt, some of the best (not to mention our favorite) cheese and charcuterie shops in New York City. If you’re in Park Slope, Carroll Gardens, or the West Village, be sure to stop in!
