Located on an inconspicuous residential corner just a block off Carroll Garden's Smith Street strip, Black Mountain has become one of our favorite mainstays for small plates and excellent wine. Here they share the recipe for their staple house panini.
3 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 tablespoon apricot jam
2 tablespoons ajvar
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 teaspoon vinegar
½ teaspoon dijon mustard
2 slices swiss cheese
3 slices mortadella
4 thin slices smoked Polish bacon
4 - 6 slices pickled banana peppers
Mix sauce ingredients together. Assemble sandwich and add one tablespoon of sauce. Place in panini press and cook for 4 - 5 minutes on medium high.
