Brooklyn Slate to Host 2nd Annual National Grilled Cheese Day on Saturday, April 12

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK — April 2, 2014 — In celebration of National Grilled Cheese Day, Brooklyn Slate Company is handing out free grilled cheeses at its brick and mortar shop on Saturday, April 12 from noon to four o'clock.
This is the second year the company is playing host for the holiday. "Last year was such a success that we decided to make it an annual event," states Kristy Hadeka, a co-owner of Brooklyn Slate. "We're excited to have folks come over and help us celebrate our favorite holiday of the year."
The company is offering three variations on the grilled cheese, all featuring farmhouse cheddar from Shelburne Farms of Shelburne, VT. In addition to sandwiches, tomato soup shots will be provided by The Splendid Spoon of Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Local favorites The Milkman and Sons will be on hand to provide live music.
